Les Aventuriers du Rail

One rainy autumn evening, five lifelong friends meet at one of the oldest clubs in town. All of them have travelled extensively around the world to meet on this very day... It is October 2, 1900. Exactly twenty-eight years earlier, the eccentric Londoner Phileas Fogg had bet the sum of £20,000 that he would complete the circumnavigation of the world in eighty days. The wager was won. At the time, while the newspapers were reporting Fogg's triumphant journey, the five friends were at university together. Inspired by this ambitious wager, they in turn made a wager, albeit a more modest one, that the winner would be awarded a bottle of Château Margaux for being the first to join Procope in Paris.

Every year, they get together to celebrate this anniversary and salute Fogg's exploit. Each year, a new expedition, always more difficult, is born, and a reward, always more expensive, is put at stake. Today, at the dawn of a new century, it is time to make the gamble of an impossible journey. The stakes: 1 million dollars! The objective: to cross as many cities as possible on the territory of the United States by rail in just 7 days! Let the adventure begin...
