Museum: Pictura is a standalone collector's game for 2 to 4 players. Imagined by Olivier Melison and Eric Dubus, you play the role of a budding curator in an art museum. Your goal is to create collections from the most emblematic works of art in history. Museum: Pictura brings new mechanics and exciting strategic possibilities, while maintaining a strong filiation with its predecessor. The style and basic principle of the game remains museum collecting and conservation, but the historical objects of the original game have been replaced by classical paintings, covering the period from the Renaissance to Impressionism.
This change of theme is reflected in the mechanics of Museum: Pictura. You will have to deal with the fluctuating trends in the art world, acquiring and exhibiting paintings according to what is currently fashionable. As your collections develop, you'll be able to open them briefly to the public through temporary exhibitions, which will allow you to immediately mark the value of the collection on display and earn special bonuses for the rest of the game. But beware, your visitors will quickly get tired of seeing the same types of collections over and over again, so it's essential to choose the right time to open your exhibitions!
With a multitude of ways to score points and lots of player interaction, Museum: Pictura offers a whole new gameplay experience compared to the original game, which will delight both experienced curators and new players alike!
Museum: Pictura was funded on the Crowdfunding Kickstarter (See the campaign) platform on the 24 March 2020, the campaign lasted 20 days. 1,542 people helped funded the game, whose the amount requested was €35,000.00. Thanks to these 1,542 people the game could be funded up to €88,132.50, ~251.81%.
