King Manuel I of Portugal wanted to make his mark on the 16th century. To do so, he asked the country's most talented craftsmen to design prestigious buildings. After the palaces of Évora and Sintra, the monarch now wishes to pursue his dream by asking that a summer pavilion be specially erected in his honour. As with the other buildings, this will be entrusted to the most talented craftsmen in Portugal. The pavilion will have to make the prestige of the royal family shine through.
Unfortunately, Manuel I died before the work began, and never had the pleasure of contemplating the much desired building.
