Ostrogoths and Visigoths rejected each other the fault of the abduction of the daughter of the king of the first and also wife of the king of the latter. They went back to war again. But the means of communication of the time were somewhat imprecise and there was no guarantee that a given order could, in fact, be properly executed in the field.
