The Black Death has claimed many lives, and survivors from all walks of life are now looking to the future and coming together to build new communities. Each player is responsible for populating a new village in order to become the most prosperous. The game is organized around a central path of cards. During the draw phase, the players take charge of a number of village cards equal to the amount of food produced by their village. This stage is followed by a construction phase in which the cards can be played in his village, depending on the number of builders in his village. Cards are played on a production line, starting with cards producing basic resources, which can support chains of workers linked to these resources.
Some villagers produce tools and equipment that others need, using an interactive mechanism, to take advantage of what other players are building.
The game features a solo mode where an isolated village strives to thrive despite the formidable countess and her devilish machinations.
