Tanuki Market is a collectible game that puts you in charge of a group of 5 Tanukis, tasked with stealing as much fruit of all kinds as possible from the Market and putting it on sale at their stalls. Collect strawberries, figs, bananas, pineapples and watermelons before Grandma Tanuki returns and do your best to impress Polo, the King of the Tanuki Thieves! At the beginning of each round, the Polo cardholder shuffles and deals the cards to the various Marketplace locations. At any time during this distribution, players may rush to choose one of the Market cards and replace it with one of the fruits already in their possession on their stalls. Each fruit has a different value depending on the stall it is on. Each stall can only have one type of fruit, and players can only have different types of fruit on each of their stalls.
And beware! Some types of fruit are more rare than others... The game ends when the Grandma Tanuki card is drawn, after which there is a final round of play. Players then count up their points, taking into account the special powers on some of the fruits and the bonuses given by the Thief King and Granny Tanuki. A variant for more advanced players and a single player mode are also available!
