You are a scientist and you have just boarded a ship from Ganymede to Demeter 1, a planet in orbit around Demeter. Demeter is a red dwarf with two twin planets, each with an ESI (Earth Similarity Index) of 0.98. The first overflights revealed the presence of dinosaurs. Shahrazad takes the lead of this expedition: go on an adventure and discover all the secrets of Demeter's first moon! Observe and study the species of dinosaurs found there. You will also be able to build observation posts, recruit other scientists, progress in research and construct buildings in order to better understand these species in their environment.
Demeter is a Flip & Write game: you will turn over cards at each turn that will allow you to trigger actions and win bonuses. At each round, players complete 3 steps: Reveal a card from each of the 5 decks. Choose to trigger the action of one of the 5 revealed cards. Win the bonus corresponding to the color of the chosen card. The object of the game is to score more MP (Mission Points) than your opponents to win the game. These points represent your ability to discover and study these new species of dinosaurs in their environment.
The game ends at the end of the 12th round and players score Mission Points in several categories: species discovered entirely, diversity of species discovered, scientific objectives, quality of observation, number of scientists recruited and dinosaurs studied.
