Players build Ragusa in the 15th century, a maritime and port republic on the Adriatic Sea, a rival to Venice. They strategically manage sawmills, vineyards, towers and warehouses in and around the city to lay the foundations for the trade and wealth that is the city's legacy. By strategically placing buildings, they gain access to resources and produce goods to trade for other goods and victory points. They also earn points by building ramparts and towers to defend the city.

Ragusa was funded on the Crowdfunding Kickstarter (See the campaign) platform on the Dec 15, 2018, the campaign lasted 24 days. 2,009 people helped funded the game, whose the amount requested was £20,000.00. Thanks to these 2,009 people the game could be funded up to £89,258.00, ~446.29%.
