Polyssimo: Challenge is a tactical game for 2 to 4 players containing a 12x11 square board and 24 pieces: the 12 pentominoes (all possible combinations of five squares) and the 12 hexominoes (some of the six square combinations). To begin, the players place the pieces in the middle of the table, then take turns choosing one piece after another, placing these pieces in front of them. Once all the pieces have been claimed, the players - starting with the last to take a piece and reversing the order of play - take turns placing their pieces on the board, one by one. The player who gets rid of the most pieces - more precisely, the one with the fewest remaining squares - wins.
Polyssimo: Challenge is a very tactical game, with an emphasis on geometric reasoning, as in the puzzle game Polyssimo. Giving a handicap to the strongest player is mentioned in the rules (as in Go), which makes for interesting games even when the players have different levels, for example, a beginner playing against an experienced player.
