Extremely simple and accessible, Hop le J'ton is based on the principle of the fairground stunt. The box is turned upside down and serves as a playing field. At the beginning of the game, each player has a set of j'tons of the same color. Three j'tons are placed on the field: one white, one grey and one black. The players take turns to play in the direction of the screw (this is no more arbitrary than clockwise), placing one, two or three of their j'tons in the brown area, and pushing the lid of the box to the black line.
Everyone plays in this way until some j'tons fall out of the box. If any colored j'tons fall out, the owner of the color gets his j'tons back as ammunition to play again. If white, grey or black j'tons fall, they are worth points (one, two or three points respectively)! The first to score seven points wins the game. Simple, addictive, zen and frustrating are the descriptions that come up most often at the end of the games!
