War never ends. Its victims number in the thousands, and every day we lose a little more hope... Food is scarce and our shelter is falling into ruins. Yet we continue to fight. We meet new faces all over the city: some friendly, on the improvised market or in the neighbouring houses, and others hostile at nightfall. They brandish blinding flashlights, clubs and knives.
We are looking for new passages through the ruins - sometimes even underground - to avoid the bullets of snipers and to collect anything of value. The loot is still thin. Yet we continue to fight. We have no other choice.
