In Africa, the desert wind sometimes finds lost travellers in the Great Lakes region. It then whispers in their ears the memory of the Empire of Light, the legends of Kitara. A thousand years ago, the Kitara Empire was founded by the mystical kings of the Bacwezi dynasty. The dynasty shone on the region for many years, allowing it to develop dramatically. Iron work, fertile land, architecture and cattle breeding had enabled an unprecedented expansion of the Empire. After three generations the Empire collapsed, split between its heirs, now independent kingdoms. The palaces fell into ruins and war loomed at the borders. Everyone has taken up arms to expand and reunite the great Kitara Empire!

Kitara is a game of conquests, based on movement and control of territories. With an innovative and ingenious hand mechanic, it is as accessible as it is deep. To play, add cards to your kingdom. Each card allows you to perform several actions each turn, i.e. draw more cards, recruit soldiers, heroes and centaurs, and move to invade a neighbouring territory. The more cards you have, the more powerful you are and the more prosperity points you accumulate. But each card you possess represents a part of the kingdom that must be fed. Which ones will you sacrifice if you can't feed them all? How do you move your troops so you can keep the most vital ones?

Will you be patient or fearless? Conquer, manage your resources, search for ruins and recruit legendary soldiers in this intense and fast-paced strategy game!
