Will you yield to the sorcerer across the street?! I'd rather fry! The game board represents a bridge that two warlocks will want to cross at the same time! At the beginning of the game, each player takes a wizard figurine and the material that goes with it: his 15 "spell" cards, his mana disc and the marker of his color. The "wall of fire" figure is placed on the square in the middle of the deck. The "Wizard" figures are placed 3 spaces on each side of the "Wall of Fire". The "collapsed bridge" figures are placed next to the board and the mana markers on the 50 square of the mana reserve. In the basic rule, each player shuffles his 14 "spell" cards and draws 5. The 15th is a decoy card and is always in the hand.
A game is played in several rounds. In each round, the players will have a capital of 50 mana points. In each round, players will indicate, simultaneously and secretly (with their disc), the amount of mana they want to spend in order to push the "wall of fire" towards their opponent. A player must bet a minimum of 1 mana point, the maximum being the amount they have left. Players have "spell" cards with various effects, such as "Suction" which adds the mana played by the opponent to his mana pool, or "boost attack" which increases his mana bet by 7. During each round, players may add one or more "Spell" cards to their bets.
Once both players are close, they reveal their bet and their cards, all at the same time. The effects of the spell cards are applied. If more than one card is played, the effects are resolved by following the order of priority indicated on each card. The wizard with the strongest attack pushes the wall one square towards his opponent. Some "spell" cards modify the result of the attack... If at the end of a round, the "wall of fire" reaches the square where a wizard is, the round is over. Wizards are placed 3 spaces away from the wall (loser moves back and winner moves forward), mana markers are set at 50, a "collapsed bridge" slab is placed at each end of the bridge, and each player draws 3 "spell" cards. A new round begins.
If, at the end of the round, a wizard finds himself on a "collapsed bridge" slab, he falls into the river of lava. The wizard remaining on the bridge, and his player, is declared "Great Winner"! A variant proposes to play with all the "spell" cards in hand. Another variant invites you to prepare the order in which you want to draw them.
