Relive the confrontation between two great mythical figures for the domination of Egypt. While Caesar wanted to see Egypt under Roman rule, Cleopatra defended the independence of her country body and soul. Caesar & Cleopatra offers players the opportunity to influence and eliminate patricians. At the beginning of the game, the patrician groups are placed in the center of the table and the players draw a secret mission (gather 3 quaestors, etc.). In turn, players place an Influence card worth 1 to 5 face down or two cards face up in front of the group of patricians they wish to corrupt. They can also play Action cards that will allow them to destroy opposing cards, for example. At the end of each round, a Suffrage card is drawn. This card can cause an election. In this case, the player with the greatest influence on the group concerned by the election wins a patrician from the group. Elections are also held as soon as eight cards are placed in front of a group of patricians.
All the subtlety of Caesar & Cleopatra lies in the tactical choices of the players, who will have to play their Action cards at the right time and surprise their opponent by judiciously using their Philosopher (which allows the player with the least points to take away a patrician). The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the game (1 practitioner earns 1 point, plus 2 points per secret mission completed).
