This is a game that allows for easy games or real challenges with your opponents. Mouton Rebêêle requires you to take risks on the verge of pretension. Not for people who underestimate themselves. The first player takes as many tiles as he thinks he can remember. He places them on the table face down, then places his Shepherd opposite the last tile. The next player can either add a tile to the first player's line and thus take the lead, or place his shepherd behind the first player's. All the players do the same. Next comes the flock presentation phase. One of the players turns over the first tile, the players memorize it and the tile is put back face down. Then the second and subsequent tiles are presented in the same way.
The player whose Shepherd is in the lead on the line must call out the colors of the tiles one by one. If he succeeds, he generously gets rid of his balls of wool by distributing one to each opponent. The first player to be naked wins the game. If he makes a mistake, the other shepherds graciously give him a ball of wool. And it's the turn of the second player placed on the line. So much for the basic operation. But that would be too simple. Indeed, an intruder hides in the herd, which allows some twists and turns. But that's not all. The most courageous shepherds are rewarded by being able to equip themselves with twisted moves to calm the ardor of their comrade.
