Card City is a building game for 1 to 4 players. The duration of a game is between 20 and 30 minutes. The game contains 110 cards, 48 gold tokens, a mayor token for the first player and a set of rules. The game is played in 10 rounds each divided into 5 phases. The object of the game is to score the most victory points. Victory points are obtained in 3 different ways: By building large residential areas. Each 5 Golds gives you one victory point. If the player has finished his city then he will not have negative victory points.
During the first phase, players acquire 2 new cards according to an original mechanism inspired by "I divide you choose", but more twisted with some cards hidden in addition. Then in a second phase, players build their building cards in front of them by enlarging their city. They have to respect some obvious building rules such as not building an industry next to a residence for example. The building phase is essential because it conditions the success of the next phase.

In a third phase, if the player has built his city well, then the citizens are satisfied and the city will be able to expand: The player will be able to add more cards to his city from the reserve. Two types of cards can be added: commercial and residential. The more a business is surrounded by residences, the more it will grow, and the more a residence is surrounded by cultural cards, the better the citizens will feel and these areas will be able to grow as well.
In the fourth phase, the player receives an income depending on the level of development of his businesses. Then the first player is changed.

Card City XL was funded on the Crowdfunding Kickstarter (See the campaign) platform on the May 31, 2017, the campaign lasted 29 days. 1,680 people helped funded the game, whose the amount requested was $12,000.00. Thanks to these 1,680 people the game could be funded up to $60,397.00, ~503.31%.
