Get the best equipment for this trip and recruit the most intrepid crew and, even if you arrive too late to find the treasure, you will still have the opportunity to steal it from others!
Each turn of The Treasure of Isla Tortuga, the active player draws cards from the main deck, trying to find the most useful card for his ship. Each card has a cost in one of the four possible resources, but also contributes with some to your resource pool. In this way, the more cards you reveal, the more resources you get and the more good cards you will be able to acquire. But be careful! Each card is associated with a disaster flag. Pick three identical flags and you're screwed! In addition, if you show a "Boarding" card, you can try to board another player's ship to steal a treasure or object. That's why, before you acquire big treasures, you may want to hire tough guys to help you protect them...
