In the fantasy card game Enchanters, you create an artefact and upgrade it each turn. Each card you take retains some of its power. As you get stronger, you can take on more powerful monsters and, if you plan it right, even defeat a dragon. To start the game, each player takes five crystals, then you shuffle as many realm decks as there are players, and lay out six cards (items or enchantments) on the travel track. In the game, players take turns embarking on quests, collecting cards from the travel track by paying with crystals. Acquired cards are placed in adjacent piles, with something like "Long Sword" in the item pile and cards like "Fire" in the enchantment pile; combined, these cards create the "Long Sword of Fire", and the cards grant temporary (top icons and skills) and permanent (bottom icons) bonuses.
Players can attack approaching monsters and defeat them in a simple combat encounter to score points. In combat, you compare your defence to the monster's strength to determine if you receive damage. Then, you must accumulate as many attacks as the monster's hit points to defeat it. You keep the cards you defeat as trophies. From time to time, you rest in the village to earn crystals or heal your wounds. If you do so, discard the first card of the travel track. At the end of each round, replenish the travel track with six cards. The game ends when the last card is taken or discarded.
