First published in 1995 as a trading card game, The Legend of the Five Rings has since become a success thanks to its unique universe, captivating game experience and enthusiastic community of players. Newcomers to Rokugan and regular visitors alike will be able to experience the Empire like never before thanks to the evolving card game format. Each player directs his forces using two separate decks: a Dynasty deck, which populates his provinces with characters and properties, and a Conflict deck, featuring tactics, maneuvers, followers and props that can be used to regain the upper hand and establish supremacy in battle. During the course of the games, players will compete in political and military conflicts, with the goal of conquering their opponent's strongholds to achieve victory. But the rules of society are absolute, and the clans must never forget the principles of Bushidō, otherwise their selfish quest for glory will lead them to their downfall?
The basic game of The Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game includes everything you need to explore the seven great clans of Rokugan: the Crab Clan, the Crane Clan, the Dragon Clan, the Lion Clan, the Phoenix Clan, the Scorpion Clan, and the Unicorn Clan. It also includes many counters and cards, as well as the rule sheets that will allow you to play your first games of The Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game.
