Magic has made Gateway a place envied by everyone in the World of Knowledge; it must now help to rebuild this once grandiose city, but today subject and enslaved. An authoritarian regime, led by Chancellor Gideon, rules Gateway while Hordes of Monsters threaten to destroy everything. Everywhere, Rebel Factions are fighting to save the city from its evil destiny.
Gateway Uprising is a deck building game where you start with a simple deck of cards and must, over the course of rounds, recruit new Insurgent, Merchant or Support cards for your Faction. Well-built decks allow players to form powerful armies to fight both Monsters and Guards for control of the city's neighborhoods.
