At the beginning of the game, players are all given the same number of cards representing monuments, inventions, etc. On the back of each card is a date. To start the game, a card is drawn at random from the cards not dealt to the players. It is placed in the center of the table face up and is the starting point of a timeline that will be completed by the players. The first player then chooses one of their cards. If he thinks that the date of his card is earlier than that of the initial card, he places his card to the left of the initial card. If he believes that his invention was created afterwards, he places his card to the right of the initial card.
The player's card is then turned over, face up, with the date face up. If he is right, it stays in place. If not, his card is discarded and he must draw another card to replace it. The first player to discard his cards wins the game! Please note that the Classic Timeline blister cards are from the previous edition of Multi-Topic Timeline.
