The Royal Monstrological Society has among its members the most renowned and respected experts in the field of monsters throughout the empire. Each year, the Society allows only one new member to join it, so candidates compete to prove their worth with the most magnificent menagerie of monstrous animals they can find... and capture.
To assist in these discovery quests, the Society grants each aspiring monstrologer a small salary that he can use to hire additional experts and finance his trips to the magical countries where the most exotic animals live. After four hunting seasons, potential members present their collections at the organization's annual banquet, an event known as the Monsters™ Carnival.
Carnaval of Monsters is a card drawing game in which players try to collect a series of land maps in order to capture and display strange and exotic monsters, hire talented staff to help them run their business and pursue their own secret goals. Points are awarded for displaying monsters, scoring goals and winning gold crowns during four "seasons" of play.
In the end, it is the player with the most profitable and spectacular carnival that wins!
