This extension adds another step to the game: in order to be able to display valuable artifacts in their museums, our curators will now have to send their agents around the world to bring them back first! Players will have to choose carefully the continents to send their archaeologists to, as fundraising expeditions are not expensive. However, if no agent is present, you cannot bring back objects from this continent! Unless, of course, you can convince a member of your competitor's staff to help....
So, how does it work? The extension table has spaces for each continent, on which you can place your agents as a symbol of the shipments you are sending. Each player starts with an agent that he can place on any continent he wants for free. Once an agent is on site, you can bring back objects from this continent normally during the exploration phase. If you don't have an agent on a particular continent, but another player does, you can pay them 1 prestige point to use their staff to do the job for you. If there is no agent on this continent, you can't bring anything back at all!
You can also pay an extra fee to send additional archaeologists to a given continent. If you do, you earn additional bonuses, such as additional prestige points when you draw a card. Each additional agent you send to the same continent costs more than the last one. However, if you are the first to develop a complete network of 3 agents, you will earn a considerable bonus! The second player to do so also receives a (smaller) bonus.
