Fish 'n' Flips is a game about marine animals caught in fishing nets as by-catch. Players can compete or cooperate to free as many of them as possible. The animals are arranged in rows and columns. On his turn, a player can play one of his two action cards. These cards can be used to swap positions or to turn a card so that the animal looks in the opposite direction. When several of the same animals look in the same direction, they escape from the net, while the animals above them slide down (Tetris-style), which can allow other groups of animals to escape. After each round, another animal is added to the top of each column. When a column has seven cards, all players lose. When all the animal cards have been played, players can compare the number of animals left in the net (cooperative mode) or the number of animals released (competitive mode).
The game has a campaign in which the difficulty increases with each level. Each animal has a special ability. These make the game easier but also more complex. On the other hand, new animals are added, which makes it more difficult to form groups. In addition, garbage cards come into play. They can disrupt the groups or prevent the animals from using their special abilities.
