Museum: Pictura is a standalone collection game for 2 to 4 players. Designed by Olivier Melison and Eric Dubus, you play the role of a budding curator in an art museum. Your objective is to create collections from the most emblematic works of art in history. Museum: Pictura introduces exciting new mechanics and strategic possibilities, while maintaining a strong relationship with its predecessor. The game's basic style and premise remains museum collecting and curating, but the historical objects of the original game have been replaced by classical paintings, spanning the period from the Renaissance to Impressionism.
This change in theme is reflected in the mechanics of Museum: Pictura. You will have to deal with the fluctuating trends of the art world, acquiring and exhibiting paintings according to what is currently in vogue. As your collections grow, you'll be able to open them briefly to the public through temporary exhibitions, which will allow you to immediately mark the value of the collection on display and get special bonuses for the rest of the game. But beware, your visitors will quickly tire of seeing the same types of collections over and over again, so it's essential to time your exhibitions just right!
With a multitude of ways to score points and plenty of player interaction, Museum: Pictura offers a whole new gaming experience compared to the original game, which will delight both seasoned curators and new players!
