Wise Guys is a fast-paced, ruthless area control board game in which you play as one of four rival gangs seeking to get rich as "Rum Runners" on the tough streets of Chicago during the height of the Roaring Twenties. On each turn, players gamble, negotiate, talk and fight to control the places where they buy and sell alcohol, help politicians get elected and receive help in return or betray rival gangs. Negotiate, threaten and ally with rival gangs when it suits you, but beware of the inevitable knife in the back...
Over the course of six rounds, players take it in turns to visit locations in the city represented by the grid of cards in the centre of the board. The various locations provide access to materials, money or influence which the player's gang members can 'acquire' through trade, by taking advantage of property in their territory or by exploiting parts of the city under the control of a rival gang. All players must use some discretion, as selling too much money in one round can draw attention to yourself or saturate the city with alcohol - and your fellow mafiosos won't be too happy about losing profits. The gang with the most money at the end of the game wins.
