The Tournament of Avalon takes players to the lands where Excalibur was forged, building on the innovative mechanics of Tournament in Camelot with new characters, cards and mechanics, allowing players to focus on informal diplomacy or alliances in addition to the standard combat of the original game. It's a deep and challenging experience on its own, with added depth and complexity for players who own both games! In the game, you play as a legendary character and battle your opponents with weapon cards: arrows, swords, deception, sorcery and even alchemy. The more you hurt your opponents, the better you fare in the tournament. However, even the most injured characters can recover completely with the grace of Godsend cards and the help of their special companions. This game of dupes ends when an opponent has been injured to the point of death. The player with the most health is then declared the winner of the tournament!
In The Tournament of Avalon, you also get cards featuring the legendary enchantress Morgan Le Fay and a new set of location panels that grant extra advantages to a player when they host a round of the tournament. If you own the Tournament at Camelot deck, you can shuffle your favourite cards, play with either rule, or combine the two decks to play an epic "Chaos of Battle" tournament with seven or eight players!
