In 1803, U.S. President Jefferson decided to send an expedition to discover this immense territory. The two men in charge, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, are responsible for mapping the territory, establishing contacts with local tribes and inventorying the animal and plant species encountered. In this new Lewis & Clark opus, you play as these explorers and try to learn as much as you can about your new country. Your men are represented by dice. It's up to you to make the most of it!

The goal of the game is to win as many exploration points as possible by combining mapping points, contact points with Indian tribes and inventoried animal and plant species points. To collect points, you must explore as many cards as possible with your men or those of other players. Each player has a Discovery card in front of him, composed of rivers and/or mountains. Natural species and Indian tribes can also be brought in. An individual board allows him to visualize his possible actions (exploring a river, making a deal with a tribe...) and their cost in terms of dice.

The player has five dice of his own colour representing his most loyal men. By rolling the dice, he assigns them all to a task: making friends with the Indians, exploring an area on foot or on horseback and writing his diary. Writing the log allows you to validate the action performed. It is up to the player to allocate his men according to the needs of his Discovery card and knowing that he can only play one type of die per turn. In addition, each action performed will tire men and the dice will be temporarily unavailable until the player sacrifices a turn to recover them. The originality of this game lies in the management of dice. The player can use not only his own but also those of other players and neutral dice. He will have to manage the flow of dice as efficiently as possible to explore the territory in the most efficient way possible.

The game ends when the stock of Discovery cards is depleted and players can no longer complete their Exploration area.
