As civil war approaches in France, two young women ascend the thrones of England and Scotland. Elizabeth is a Protestant and worries her powerful Spanish ally. Her cousin Mary is Catholic in a reformed country. Each of them tries to establish a certain religious tolerance, but fanaticism is not far away. The great lords would like to share the royal power, and dress in piety to justify their actions. The revolt rumbles.

Mary, her dress torn by hours of riding, comes to the balcony. But the people who worshipped her a few months before now hate her and boo her, insult her... Elizabeth receives a delegation of MPs, who want to force her to appoint a successor, but she herself has been an heiress, and knows the plots that are going on around them... As the factions become more radical, the two sovereigns are drawn into a spiral of violence, repression and war. In turn loved relatives or feared rivals, they will end up enemies without ever having met each other. In this dark and murderous alliance game, populated by highland mercenaries, Irish rebels, privateers and overly modern spies, the adventurers will have to show as much skill and diplomacy as skill with weapons to prevent England from being confronted with the horror of the massacres. A journey that will take them to the four corners of the island and force them to finally ask themselves what they are fighting for.

This first volume of the two queens is no less than 200 pages long, where players will be able to discover Scotland, so close but yet so exotic. They will immerse themselves in a fascinating period marked by an incredibly romantic female figure: Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland. This first volume includes : A description of Scottish society and court life. A map and a guide to Edinburgh. Customs and habits in the lowlands, borders and highlands. Cards of typical characters (reiver, highlander, cateran, etc.). The history of England and Scotland from 1558 to 1568. Three scenarios forming an epic campaign.
