The player guide for the Curse of the Scarlet Throne campaign, the second campaign in the Pathfinder range, is designed for both the leader and the players. It presents the elements needed to create a character for the campaign, as well as a description of the town of Korvosa, the largest city in Varisia and the centre of the campaign. Thus, the supplement begins with a description of the town of Korvosa. Korvosa, under the control of a monarchy whose rulers never stay on the throne for long, is the commercial centre of the region. Although some of its districts are under-populated, it remains a major city of Varisia. The book continues with a description, for each of the character classes, of the various opportunities offered by Korvosa. A list of typical equipment follows.
The last chapter of the guide is devoted to a list of five past events that must be present in the characters' history in order to be able to play the countryside. Each event gives them a reason to resent a local hit, and also gives them a technical advantage. The guide begins with a map of the town and ends with a map of the region.
