In the exotic land of Katapesh, land of fortune and wonders, it is said that heroes are those who have the courage to take their destiny into their own hands. This adage leads a brave troupe to the abandoned village of Kelmarane, in the hope of restoring this once prosperous community. But the vultures still feast on the corpse of this isolated colony: a ferocious tribe of gnolls and their savage allies hold the town in the name of a ruthless master known only as King Scavenger.
