No city in Golarion was more deeply affected by Aroden's death than Crown West. Capital of the Cheliax, the city was to welcome the return of the god and had been preparing for the event for several decades. In the years following Aroden's death, his church collapsed, his sacred sites were abandoned and the country sank into civil war with cruel diabolists. The rise of the Three-Damned Thrune House further accentuated the fall of the Western Crown, as the new diabolical rulers moved the capital north to the city of Egorian, thus stripping the Western Crown of most of its wealth and prestige.
Before Aroden's death, the Council of Thieves was already an open secret in the Crown of the West. Mainly composed of noble and influential families, the guild had established its power over smuggling, banditry and institutional crime. Today, two children threaten the stability of this organisation, but also that of the entire city!
