This book is a contextual supplement where everyone will find what they need to enhance their game play. First, the city of Pompeii, the central element of this book, is presented in detail, then the remarkable points of the surroundings are sketched with their descriptions, plans and characters. A large number of buildings correspond to real constructions still present in Pompeii today. Most of the characters suggested existed at one time or another in the life of the city. Based on what history and archaeology have learned about the city, several fictitious elements are added, based on historical research and readings concerning the Roman Empire, from all eras. Finally, four scenarios, including the fateful eruption, are proposed and are deliberately timeless so that they can be played whatever the historical period chosen by the leader. The book concludes with numerous ideas for adventures to be played in improvisation or to develop scenarios.
