The winner is the one who succeeds in taking his cow in love to the other end of the meadow where she will join Marcel, the bull of his dreams. However, the identity of the cow must remain secret because there is a second way to win, which is to capture the cow in love with the opponent. Each player chooses the color of their love cow in secret. The players take turns to move their cows in the meadow. The move is made by drawing a straw from the 4 straws in the opponent's hand. The straws with 1 or 2 notches allow you to move a cow one or two squares in a straight line. The 3-notched straw allows you to move a cow one square diagonally. The straw without notches is the "dung move": you can either move an opponent's cow or exchange an opponent's cow with one of your own cows. When a player moves one of his cows onto the square of an opponent's cow, he captures it and the opponent must start again on the starting line.
However, it is not possible to make a capture with the cow in love which is harmless. If the capturing player thinks it is the cow in love, he must say so. If he is wrong, he loses his cow. If he is right, he wins the game.
