In the past, when times were still dangerous and the Vikings lived a harsh life, any chief who held himself in esteem had to build a fortified village to take refuge in: the proximity of the other clans was not without danger. From this perspective, the Vikings used everything they could find to build their walls: wood, grass, clay and stone. And of course, the easiest way was to help yourself directly to their neighbours!
The Viking fortified villages are built on the Swedish island of Öland. The goal of the game is that when one of the players has completed the construction of his fortified village, or after 10 turns at the latest, the player with the highest value fortified village wins the game. Players send their Vikings to loot the best possible building materials for their fortified village. The bricks have different values and at the end of the game each player hopes to have the fortified village built with the bricks of better values.
