Second version of the Monopoly Arcachon Basin. The basin of Arcachon still remains today, despite the tourist influx, a dream of exoticism, initiated in the nineteenth century by the vogue of sea bathing with delicious air crosses the ocean of pines to come to bathe this sea interior surrounded by villages where exquisite oysters are raised, where the water is transparent, and in the middle of which emerges the island aux Oiseaux.
This dream is a vast triangle of more than one hundred kilometers around, from the dune of Pilat to the Pointe du Cap Ferret, distributed between the south coast, that of Arcachon, La Teste, the oyster-farming ports, the park Teich and the Eyre delta, the east coast, Biganos, Audenge, Lanton, Andernos and Ares, the west coast finally, the peninsula of Lège-Cap Ferret, all connected to the ocean by punctuated passes sandbanks in perpetual motion, including the famous Banc d'Arguin.
The fresh waters of the Leyre and the canal des ponds spill out at low tide in the midst of immense marine marshes, the delta of Eyre or the large salt meadows of Ares; the 370 million m3 of salt water arrives through the passes to the flow to cover again the released lands; an incessant back-and-forth, which makes the Arcachon basin this great protean body that we never stop discovering for the first time, amazed.
