In the archipelago of the Cyclades, off the coast of an as yet ununified Greece, the great cities (Sparta, Athens, Corinth, Thebes and Argos) develop and compete for supremacy under the benevolent gaze of the Gods. Demonstrate the supremacy of your city by being the first player to own 2 Metropolises at the end of a cycle.

The game is played in a succession of cycles during which players will first collect their income in the form of POs (production of their islands + sea trade). Then make offerings to the Gods (auctions). Sometimes you will have to spend a lot of money to obtain the favours of the God of your choice. Finally, according to the God obtained, carry out the actions which are specific to him (each God has a "free" action, others being accessible by spending still precious PO).

The objective of each player is to own two Metropolises at the end of a cycle (either by building them and/or conquering them). The game ends at the end of a cycle if at least one of the players has met this goal. If more than one player achieves this goal in a cycle, the richest player (the one with the most POs) wins.
