Competition is fierce in the kingdom of production: in Hollywood, every move is possible to complete the most beautiful pearls of cinema, or the most beautiful nanar which can eventually become a cult! It's fresh, it's beautiful my... movie! The game takes place in 4 phases (years) where lots of 1 to 3 tiles will be auctioned. The auctions will be conducted in a closed circuit, i.e. the same number of contracts (the "currency") for the entire game (for example, 48 contracts with 4 players, 12 for each at the beginning). The highest bidder will give the contracts back to the other players, who will then gain purchasing power.
Quiet, we're rolling! At the beginning, each player runs a studio that has to produce 3 films. A film has a category (adventure, drama and entertainment), stars (reflecting its potential) and is divided into a variable number of roles to be filled: a single director, then actors, special effects, film crews or music, whose combination reflects the theme of the film (we suspect that King Kong will need special effects!). Each film may be enhanced by a guest star, whose reputation will change its intrinsic value. In each round of betting, everyone will acquire lots of tiles and place them on their different films. Each tile has a role and a number of stars.
Post-production.... At some point, we will finish a movie and take a token whose value is the sum of all the stars in the movie, unless the token of the same value has already been taken. In this case, the first available counter of a lower value is used. The audience after all doesn't like films that look too similar and only the first one of this quality will have the expected effect. We then have the right to take a new film (in a limited reserve) if there are still some available and continue our productions.
Say, I'd like an Oscar on the buffet in the living room... A number of awards will be given: during the game, with a value of 5 points: the first film in each category to be completed (not necessarily of high value) and the best film in all categories for each year (in value). At the end of the game, worth 10 points: the best film in each category, the best control room (the highest number of director's stars for completed films) and the most beautiful nanar (lowest value).
In addition, there are the points of each finished film and the remaining contracts. The winner is traditionally the one who scores the most points.
