K2 is the second highest mountain on the planet and the second deadliest. It is known as the Wild Mountain, because it kills one in four people who reach the summit... Your team now stands in its shadow, ready to climb for glory and fame. K2 is a board game in which each player controls a team of 2 climbers, trying to reach the summit of K2 and return before the other players' teams and before the mountain kills them. Each player uses an identical set of cards. You use the cards to move your climbers along the route shown on the board, or to acclimatise your team members.
You can also set up a tent and wait for better weather. You will need to choose your route carefully, as other climbers may block your way, and watch for upcoming weather that may reduce your acclimatisation to 0, killing your climbers. K2 is a hand management game for 1-5 players, with high interaction and low luck factor, lasting up to 60 minutes. The theme is very well represented by the mechanics, including elements such as weather changes, lack of oxygen and death of climbers. The result is an exciting game for players and non-players alike. The box includes, among other things, a double-sided board with two different routes to the summit (easier and harder) and two sets of weather tiles (for summer and winter).
