There is prayer. But mostly, there is hard work – both within the cloister walls as well as outside them. The players are cloister heads and send their clergymen (the prior along with two lay brothers) to buildings in which they produce goods.

Ora et Labora est un jeu sur la vie économique d’un monastère au Moyen Âge. Au cœur des activités se trouve la prière et surtout le travail, autant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur du monastère. Les joueurs siègent à la tête d’un monastère et envoient leurs ecclésiastiques (un prieur et deux frères convers) vers différents bâtiments producteurs de biens.
