We are at the beginning of the twentieth century, but in a world that is not quite the one we know. In 1895, the explorer Augustus Copperpot discovered in Amazonia a dimensional portal leading to a lost valley, inhabited by a primitive civilization. He calls this distant Eden the Valley of Wiraqocha. This world contains a treasure that will revolutionize modern science: a luminescent orange crystal with surprising peculiarities, somnium. This can be used as a fuel, but it can also affect the material, or even the time. From then on, this virgin land becomes the new Eldorado of European settlers. The Empress Victoria II decides to send several conglomerates to share this promised land, to bring back the fruits. The skies of the Atlantic darken vast fleets of zeppelins, carrying on board squads of scientists, adventurers and looters.
The Wiraqocha Valley is represented by a modular plateau of 22 hexagonal tiles, each identified by a number from 1 to 12 or a combination of dice (doubles or suites). In turn, each player will roll a number of six-sided dice, which he will then have to combine to take control of the different territories, or protect during the opponent's turns those he already controls. Each territory brings back resources or a special ability, which are all ways to change the outcome of the dice. There are three ways to win: bring back a huge shipment of somnium to the Empress; acquire enough scientific knowledge to build Leviathan, a terrifying weapon of war in the service of the Kingdom; or find in the depths of the temples the four relics leading to Wiraqocha's treasure.
