1289. To consolidate the borders of the Kingdom of France, King Philippe le Bel decided to build a new castle. For the time being, Caylus is only a modest village, but soon, dozens of workers and craftsmen are flocking, attracted by the wealth that this formidable work can bring them. Around the construction site, a city is slowly beginning to emerge...
The players play the role of prime contractors. By building the King's Castle and developing the city's infrastructure that extends at its feet, they earn prestige points and win the King's favour. When the castle is finished, the most prestigious player wins the game.
Since its release, Caylus has won numerous awards and has been particularly well received by players. Even if the game started a little while ago, you can still have a good time playing it, below the reward obtained by the game : 2005 (Tric Trac d'Or).
