In Japan, from 1603 to 1868, the position of the Emperor was weakened: a Shogun of the Tokugawa family ruled in his place with an iron fist, ensuring peace between the daimyos. The insignificant fishing village of Edo became the new seat of government and took off to become the most important city of Japan, a city that is now called Tokyo.
At the time, to protect themselves against plots, every daimyo was forced to send family members to live in Edo while investing a considerable portion of his resources in the development of the region. The samurai are disarmed and the best of them now serve their overlords as stewards. If no one comes to question the ambitions of the Shogun during this troubled period, a daimyo can extend its influence to all other families ...
