The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey traces the epic of Bilbo Baggins gone to reclaim from the claws of the terrible dragon Smaug the lost kingdom of the Erebor Dwarves. Impromptu approached by the magician Gandalf the Gray, Bilbo eventually joined a troop of thirteen Dwarves led by the legendary warrior Thorin Chestnut. Their journey will lead them to remote and perilous regions teeming with goblins and orccs, fierce warriors and wizards.
To reach the eastern mountains and desert areas of the Lonely Mountain, they will first have to escape from the Gobelins tunnels, where Bilbo will meet Gollum, the creature who will forever change the course of his life. There, alone with Gollum, on the banks of an underground lake, the modest Bilbo Baggins discovers in him unsuspected treasures of ingenuity and courage and takes possession of the "precious" ring of Gollum which conceals unexpected and useful powers ... A simple golden ring linked to the destiny of Middle-earth to a point that Bilbo can not imagine.
