Beauvais is based on an ancient and very rich history, as evidenced by the beauty of St. Peter's Cathedral, and which Jeanne Hachette, in 1472, wrote one of the most memorable pages. Destroyed largely during the Second World War, it took years to rebuild. By 1960, new industries gave new dynamism and new impetus to the city.
Beauvais is today a young city, resolutely turned towards a future which is part of the agglomeration community of Beauvaisis and the heart of the Oise. The city-prefecture hosts a diversified industry, and it is also an important administrative and commercial center. Lives: cultural (blues around Zinc, meeting cello, summer scenes, film festival ...), sports, associative and leisure are particularly developed, to measure the many existing equipment. Nearly 60,000 Beauvais residents today live in a city that wants solidarity, and where the focus is on education and the quality of the environment.
