Halfway between wargame, miniatures and board game, Battlelore offers you to take command of great medieval-fantasy battles. Battlelore is inspired by Memoir' 44, which itself was inspired by Battle Cry, by the same author. In this game system we can also mention Commands & Colors. Those who know the latter will be very little disorientated by Battlelore.
The game integrates new mechanisms but keeps, more or less, the format (complexity, duration) of Memoir' 44, which makes it a fairly accessible game. The games always take place in the form of scenarios and the game offers several levels of complexity to facilitate learning. The main new features of Battelore are the role played by magic and the council of war.
