When Martians invade a planet, the Scientific Division usually collects specimens of local fauna in order to continue its genetic experiments. These experiments range from molecular dissection, which allows one to judge the biological principles of life in a given environment, to tissue sampling and cloning, to produce survival equipment in a hostile environment. But sometimes, the Division takes pleasure in rendering gigantic creatures, considering that nothing is more frightening for the natives than to be confronted with monstrous versions of innocuous creatures! The Earth is no exception, and the Martians are delighted to have created these "giant bugs" and released them on the people of Greenville!
