On the main square of the inner city, a sorcerer was tortured, and the crowd gathered there contemplating the spectacle with loud cries and mockery. Conan, attacked in his house by the monster, inflicted a mortal wound on him and pursued him to the square, where the creature rushed to his master, the man of Kordafan, and collapsed, dead. The furious crowd rushed upon the sorcerer and shredded him; then appeared Ageera, who accused Tuthmes. He too was massacred by the mob, then the blacks rose up and destroyed Shumballa, and Conan and Diana fled.
