It was as if she were contemplating a second Taramis, identical to herself in each of the outlines of her features and limbs, but inhabited by an unknown and evil personality. The face of this stranger reflected the exact opposite of all that of the queen. Lust and mystery glittered in the depths of her bright eyes, cruelty surfacing in the curve of her full red lips. Every movement of his supple body was subtly provocative. Her hair imitated that of the queen, and she had at her feet sandals identical to those which Taramis usually wore in her boudoir. Her silk tunic, sleeveless and low-cut, held at the waist by a gold woven link, was the exact replica of the queen's nightdress.
