Captain Shu Ming the Ruthless. Shu Ming's story is similar to that of many women who end up going to sea: an arranged marriage that went wrong and pushed her to flee her father's palace. But Shu Ming was the youngest daughter of Emperor Go Ming the Inflexible. Hunted for years, she was soon clever enough to escape her father's ambushes, sparing none of the idiots responsible for bringing her home. His lucky star drove his father into madness, which precipitated his fall for the benefit of the Gor-Dawn dynasty. Upon hearing the news, Shu Ming laughed and said, "Everything went according to plan.
Link Hua the Flower of Death - Spadassin. Born into an exiled family, Lien Hua was born in Japan. His father made a living teaching Chinese martial arts, but was quickly the target of a vendetta provoked by a rival Japanese sensei. The dispute was settled by the local prefect, who ordered that families exchange their children for ten years and one day. This is how little Lien Hua spent so many of her early years with a Japanese master of arms and earned her nickname of Flower of Death.
Ai Fei the Chosen One of Mazu - Gross. Rumours are that Ai Fei is of divine descent. Few women with such beauty and intelligence can boast the strength of ten men. His only relative was his father, a humble fisherman from Singapore who disappeared at sea on a sad autumn day. Ai Fei prayed to all the gods for advice and wisdom, and Mazu responded by offering him a vision of his father chained up scrubbing the deck of a ship. The following visions led her to the dreadful plagues, although she heard nothing about navigation.
